YCIS Qingdao employs a full-time University and Career Guidance Counsellor to help our Secondary students evaluate their educational and professional future, and to help them succeed in their goals.

One-to-One Support

The University Guidance Office (UGO) offers career planning guidance and assistance for our students in selecting IB courses as they prepare themselves to attend university in their chosen field and selected country. Our UGO also offers one-to-one college planning support, assisting students in compiling the necessary materials required for university and college applications, and helping them prepare transcripts and reference letters. Our counsellor’s expertise helps keep students and parents informed about the requirements for tertiary studies, the courses and programmes offered in various countries, and application processes.

University Visits

YCIS hosts visits by representatives of a vast range of universities and colleges from the US, the UK, Australia, Continental Europe, Canada, Hong Kong, and South Korea. The occasions give students and their parents an opportunity to meet and speak with overseas university representatives about the admission processes and the study programmes as well as university life.

Career Planning

Career workshops, courses, and information evenings are frequently organised on our campus to better prepare our students for the planning of their future. Students also enrol in guidance courses that help them determine and define their passion, goals, and direction for university studies and beyond.
