At YCIS Qingdao, we value a close and co-operative relationship between home and the school. Parents at YCIS Qingdao gain first-hand international learning experiences through the close relationships we build. Our parents – from a wide range of nationalities – came together to decorate the QICC for our Christmas celebrations. They were very appreciative of this activity as they were able to socialise with other members of the school community.

Our ECE and Primary students were given an opportunity to display their creativity at the cookie decoration and Christmas card craft stations. They also got a chance to meet Santa Claus and have a photo taken with him. As well as this, the YCIS Qingdao Parent Organisation ran a Christmas charity market, which sold a range of fun Christmas gifts, delicious cookies and colourful cards. All the money collected will be going towards our charity works in the Jiaonan School for the Deaf, as well as the K.I.M. Project for orphans in the Phillippines.

Loving our neighbour as ourselves is part of our Character Education programme – a core purpose of a YCIS education. We are not only encouraging our students to follow this principle but also putting it into action.
