School Fees

Fee Schedule – Academic Year 2021/2022
Kindergarten 3 to Year 13

(All fees quoted below are in RMB currency)

Application Fee (for new students;non-refundable): Amount 3,000RMB

Deposit (K3 to Year 13): Amount 19,000RMB

The Deposit is a one-time, refundable, non-interest-bearing security deposit required to be paid to the School, and shall be held by the School for the duration of the student’s enrolment. Yew Chung International School of Qingdao reserves the right to settle any outstanding fees owed to the School using the Deposit, either during the student’s attendance or after the student’s withdrawal.

If the Deposit is used to settle an outstanding fee or payment to Yew Chung International School of Qingdao, then the Deposit must be repaid within three days after the School has made the deduction.

The Deposit, after deductions for any amounts owed to the School and in accordance with the School’s departure and refund policies, will be returned to parents within 30 days after all departure procedures have been completed and student has departure.

Payment of the Deposit will not, in and of itself, guarantee a School placement; all other admission and School requirements

Semester 1 or Annual Tuition Fees must be paid no later than 15th June, 2021.
Semester 2 Tuition Fees must be paid no later than 15 November, 2021.
For mid-year applications, the tuition fees will be calculated on a monthly pro-rata basis, calculated based on a 10-month period and inclusive of the month in which the student plans to start attending School. The tuition fees should be paid within ten (10) working days after issuance of the Offer of placement and in any case before the student begins to attend School.

School Uniform Fee

School uniforms are required for all students in ECE K3 to Year 13. Uniforms are available for purchase at the School Uniforms Platform, at prices set by the supplier.

New students need to purchase one set of school uniform in the first year of enrollment. All returning students should purchase school uniforms by individual pieces as needed. (Number and style of school uniform, please refer to YCIS Uniform Catalogue on School Uniform Platform)

Early Bird Discount

Parents/guardians may enjoy a five percent (5%) discount on Annual Tuition Fees only (excluding other School fees), if the full Annual 2021-2022 School Year Tuition Fees payment is received by our bank no later than 15 April 2021. (The date of receipt is determined by our bank acknowledgement.)

Annual Payment Discount

Parents/Guardians may enjoy a three percent (3%) discount on Annual Tuition Fees (excluding other School fees), if the full annual 2021-2022 School Year Tuition Fees payment is received by our bank between 16 April 2021 and 15 June 2021. (The date of receipt is determined by our bank acknowledgement.)

Sibling Discount

Students from the same family: The eldest child – No discount
2nd eldest child – 10% discount
3rd child and onward – 15% discount

Note: a. Sibling Discount is only applicable to our full-day programme students;
b. For students from the same family, except for Early Bird Discount and Annual Payment Discount, Sibling Discount cannot be combined with any other discounts;

Alumni Children Discount

20% tuition discount for the children of an alumni who has enrolled and been accepted into the Alumni Association during 2021-2022 School Year. Alumni Children Discount cannot be combined with any other discounts.

Boarding Discount

Students who appliy for boarding in the 2021-2022 academic year will received a discount on Dormitory and Meal services only. After the discount, the Dormitory & Meal fee will be semester one 18,400rmb, semester two 27,600rmb.

Settlement of Payments

Any payments received by the School will be applied firstly towards the Deposit, if not yet settled. Any outstanding payments must be settled according to the school fee schedule.

Late Payment Charge

An overdue payment charge of two percent (2%) per month, compounded monthly, will be charged on School Fees that are late. The School does reserve the right to offer the place of a student with overdue or outstanding payments to new waiting applicants, or to cancel the student's enrolment.

1) Bank remittance

Payment can be made by bank transfer payable to the School’s RMB bank account. For easy identification, please forward a copy of your bank remittance advice with your child’s passport name to our Accounts Office. (See below)

2) Pay in person

Small amounts of cash (less than 6,000.00 in RMB) can be accepted. Large cash, Credit Cards and Personal Cheques payments are NOT accepted.

The School will issue electronic official tax Receipt or Fapiao for all school fee payments to the email provide to the school. If you do not receive the Receipt or Fapiao within 30 days of payment, please contact the Accounts Division immediately.

Force Majeure clause

The parent/guardian understands and agrees that, if an event of force majeure (as defined below) occurs and as a result the School is prevented from performing any of its obligations towards the parent/guardian and/or students, including but not limited to school closure and reduction of student in-school learning hours, the school may implement any of the following alternative measures or any combination thereof to minimize interruptions of the students continued studying activities:

1. While the force majeure event is ongoing, resort to online/virtual classes, homework assignments, and teacherstudent/ teacher- parent communications;
2. After the school is re-open for classes upon cessation of the force majeure event, extend the school hours on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, to make up the lost class hours; and
3. When the school is able and permitted to resume normal business activities, hold extra classes or conduct special learning sessions/semester to make up the lost class hours.

For purposes of the foregoing provisions, an “event of force majeure” means an event beyond the control of the school, including but is not limited to, prohibition or acts by government or public agency, riot, war, hostility, terrorist attacks, public disturbance, strikes, other labor disputes and work stoppages, failure or interruption of transportation or other utilities, epidemic, fire, flood, earthquake, storm, tidal wave or other acts of nature.

Fee Schedule – Academic Year 2021/2022 is valid as of 1 March 2021 and will continue to be valid until further notice.

All conditions contained within this Fee Schedule - Academic Year 2021/2022 do not overwrite the law of the People's Republic of China.
