For YCIS Qingdao, the whole school assembly on every Monday is symbolic to our school life and our long-last school culture. From the beginning of the Academic Year 2020/2021, you can find students and teachers arriving in the school gym by 8:00 a.m. and seated strictly one meter apart from each other, all showing excitement to the very first resumed school event.

Same as before, the school assembly started with all participants standing up and singing the YCIS School Hymn together. It has been so long since we gather together and greet each other properly!

The YCIS school assembly is a way to promote positive values among our students and staff. It also aims to create, sustain and nurture a sense of the YCIS community, and help all community members to remain consistent with the over-all philosophy of our school. For instance, the first and second school assembly has been focusing on the theme of “Helping Hands”, which is our monthly theme of Character Education, teaching children to be responsible, respectful, and positive. The leading teacher also stressed the importance of being safe and how to be a learner.

At YCIS Qingdao, every assembly finished in good order, and everyone showed great caring by letting others go first when exiting the gym. Let’s keep the spirits on!
