April 22 is the annual Earth Day. The official theme for 2022 is “Invest In Our Planet”. All YCIS Qingdao students had a lot of fun celebrating this meaningful event.

Wear Our Support  Earth day is an optional non-uniform day. Students who wish to participate can bring 10 RMB and are to wear as much green and blue as possible, to show their support and celebrate the beauty of our Earth. Money raised will go towards the purchase of trees for the campus.

Adopt A Pet Plant  A pet is always one of the kids' favourite gifts. On Earth Day, primary students each had a pet plant! Each of them took a small pot and decorates it themselves. Then they chose a plant to adopt and name it, finally planting the plant and taking it home to care for. Each class had its class pot which will eventually hold a tree on campus. By taking part in these activities, students got a boarder understanding of how to stop climate change and protect our planet. 

Zero Waste Challenge  Is it hard to keep zero waste in your daily life? At the beginning of earth day, students talked about how they can minimise waste. When they did any recycling things throughout the day, they can get a sticker from teachers. 

Earth Day empowers students to better understand, protect and improve the environment. It reinforces the concepts of sustainability and conservation. Everyone's effort is accountable. Please join us to make our world a happier, healthier place to live.
