Last summer, Yew Chung International School of Qingdao’s Year 11 students sat their IGCSE examination, which is organized by CIE (Cambridge International Examinations). In Mid-August, the results came out. Two of our students – Kelley Kim and Ellen Lim – were awarded the Top in the World in IGCSE Foreign Language in Mandarin Chinese.

On October 24th, the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award Ceremony, organized by CIE, was held in the high school affiliated with Renmin University of China. Kelly and Ellen, accompanied by their parents and teacher, attended this ceremony and shared this happy occasion.

Since the founding of YCIS-QD, in 2006, this is the third time our students have received this special award. The excellent results the students earned is the best proof of the international education excellence and philosophy at Yew Chung. It also demonstrates the strength of our Chinese curriculum.
