In Topic, Year 3 students have been learning about old and new Qingdao in preparation for our field trip to Qingdao.

The students studied the different features of architecture in Qingdao as it relates to the present and colonial times using pictures, books, and internet search engines.

On the field trip, students noted the different style buildings they saw both on and off the bus.

At the Qingdao Planning Exhibition Hall, students observed Qingdao development from the past to the present to the future.

They also visited the St. Michael’s Cathedral to observe old architecture. As a culminating activity, students took some time to illustrate an old and new building found in Qingdao.
