This year, YCIS Qingdao’s International Day was held on November 1st, 2019. On the Day, which is one of our student body’s popular yearly activities, students and teachers came to school dressed in colours representing their class assigned nations.

At 8.15 a.m., everyone congregated in the school gym for our highly anticipated Parade of Nations. Students and teachers took turns to showcase their beautiful costumes and flags.

After the parade, students spent the rest of the morning shuttling between classrooms, each of which was set up to represent a country. Touring the classroom stations gave our students an in-depth look at and increased appreciation of the world’s diversity.

After a busy morning, hungry students were treated to a buffet lunch with food from all over the world. Parents cooked and brought their favourite dishes from their home countries and shared them with the entire school community.

Towards the end of the day, Secondary students gathered in our 5th Floor Hall for the Award Ceremony.
