As Christmas approaches, YCIS Qingdao students and teachers came together to prepare an unique Christmas concert that conveyed the warmth of love and the joy of the festive season through the magic of melody.
The concert was kicked off by the joyful dance Last Christmas, and the energetic performance of the girls from Dance CCA ignited the enthusiasm of the audience.
After the opening performance, more smiling faces appeared on the stage in a choral programme Deck the Hall, a collaborative effort by Year 1 and 2 children and members of the Parent Organisation. The excitement in the children's eyes and the pride on the parents' faces created a warm festive picture.
The award-winning YCIS Choir presented the song Count on Me in this concert, and the students' wonderful rendition of the song won enthusiastic applause from the audience.
In this concert, we invited students from YWIES Yantai to perform with the YCIS Qingdao orchestra in the pieces The Lights of China and Senbozakura, which was the second time that students from both schools performed on the same stage. In the future, we will create more opportunities for the two schools to work together to maximise the integration and cohesion of the YCYW Education in the Shandong region, and to help students shine in different arenas.
Combining violin, piano, choral singing and dance, this year's concert was an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their artistic learning and high artistic standards, and fully embodied YCIS's mission of "Align with Culture and Arts". YCIS encourages students to fully engage in music, dance, drama, and visual arts, allowing their imagination, creativity, and critical thinking to be exercised and enhanced. We believe that art can shape lives and has the power to change them even more.
The Christmas Concert is a platform for all school community members to share a joyful time. We are here to convey love and warmth through songs. We thank all community members for your participation and support in presenting a wonderful audio-visual feast.
Have a wonderful Christmas!
