Witnessing the leaves transform from green to hues of brown, yellow, and red, ECE children marvelled at nature's magic and the rhythmic changes of the seasons. Walking around the school, the children collected many different kinds of autumn leaves. They did fun experiments with the leaves to see all the different colours of autumn.Strolling around the campus in search of autumn, the students excitedly picked up fallen leaves, sharing their discoveries and questions during their nature exploration.

Before setting off, they thought about and selected the tools they needed. Some took magnifying glasses, while others picked up small scissors...

They discovered that the fallen leaves came in different colours and shapes. They collected the colourful leaves and observed their various sizes and shapes.

We also collected leaves around our school. For a sensory bin activity, we made "leaf soup," where the children washed and played with the leaves, exploring their colours and textures.The children drew eyes, noses, and mouths on the leaves they collected."leaf babies" were born from their drawings! They enjoyed the Chinese song "Little Leaves," experiencing the changes of the seasons through the music.

The children decided to create their own leaves, and we combined this activity with sensory bin time using shaving cream.We used fall colours like red, orange, yellow, and brown. The children dipped the paper into the shaving cream, and some enjoyed mixing the colours within the shaving cream.After our leaves dried, we painted a tree and attached the leaves to it. The children suggested that we make apples to hang on our tree as well. We used real apples, cut them in half, and dipped them in paint to make apple prints.

For a hands-on experiment, we poured alcohol into four cups. The children enjoyed cutting the leaves and sorting them into four different cups.After adding the leaves, we placed a coffee filter bag in each cup. We left this overnight, and the next morning, the children were able to see the colours of the leaves on the filter bags.The kids were really curious and wanted to learn about fall fruits and vegetables, especially pumpkins. Pumpkins got them excited to explore and discover more.Observing pumpkin plants as they grew, they explored the pumpkin inside out, from its peel to its seeds, each child planting a seed with care. They eagerly tracked the growth cycle of the pumpkin plants, nurturing them along the way. 

The children were curious about questions like,We started by planting pumpkin seeds.Touch, look and smell. The children discovered growing pumpkins! They learned about the leaf, flower, and fruit of the pumpkin.This is a problem that requires both critical thinking and hands-on operation, and all the children want to participate and help solve it.They thought and chose various tools to open the pumpkin, and after everyone's persistent efforts, the pumpkin was finally opened!

As they continued to explore the pumpkin, the children gradually learned about the shape and structure of the pumpkin.They used various materials to represent the shape and structure of the pumpkin, such as making pumpkins with paper strips, making play dough with pumpkin spice, and drawing pumpkins with markers.The children also made pumpkin tarts together.The exploration of autumn continues...

In a fun and educational learning atmosphere, the children learn through play, discover their unique hobbies and interests, and follow their curiosity step by step into a broader world full of unknowns.
