We are delighted to share the wonderful activities and experiences that have taken place during World Kindness Week at our school. It has been a heartwarming journey, filled with opportunities for our students to learn, reflect, and practice the values of kindness and anti-bullying.
Throughout the week, our Assemblies, Form Times, Mentoring Circles, and Life Skills Lessons have been dedicated to exploring the importance of kindness. Students have engaged in thoughtful discussions and activities designed to foster empathy and understanding. One of the highlights has been the essays written by our students on the theme of kindness. Their insightful reflections have not only showcased their writing skills but also their deep commitment to making a positive impact in our community.
Our school has been transformed with beautiful, collaborative Kindness displays, created by students working together to decorate our halls with messages of positivity and encouragement. These displays serve as daily reminders of the power of kindness. Additionally, our students have been busy filling "buckets of compliments," a fun and meaningful activity that encourages them to express appreciation and gratitude towards one another. It has been inspiring to see the smiles and connections formed as a result.
Students have also identified numerous ways to share kindness with others, both within and beyond the school community. From simple acts of courtesy to more organised initiatives, their ideas have been both creative and impactful. We are incredibly proud of our students' enthusiasm and dedication to spreading kindness.
We believe that the core purpose of education is character formation, and it is the most important shared responsibility of the school and home. Cultivating students to develop values, empathy, gratitude, and care will be a lifelong gift that YCIS gives to them.
